Replacing the Gas Valve Filter
Conditions:
î
Left side top panel removed, refer to
“Removing
and Installing the Access Panels” on page I-32.
Cleaning Procedure (Fig. 34):
1.
Release 2 screws and remove bottom cover
(
1
). Retain for reinstallation.
2.
Slide filter (
2
) out of its casing. Discard.
3.
Insert new filter (
2
) into the casing.
4.
Put bottom cover (
1
) back in position on gas
valve body.
Follow-on Task(s):
Perform leakage and function test, pmax = 360 mbar
OFF
Removal Procedure (
Fig. 35 & Fig. 36)
:
1.
Release nuts (
1
) securing the burner plate (
2
)
to the heat exchanger.
2.
Remove the burner plate (
2
) and its gasket (
3
).
Discard the gasket. Retain nuts for reinstallation.
3.
Release nuts (
4
) securing the burner tube (
5
)
and gasket (
6
) to the combustion chamber.
4.
Extract burner tube (
5
) with gasket (
6
) from
the combustion chamber. Discard the gas-
ket. Retain nuts for reinstallation
Cleaning and Checks:
1.
Visually check the condition of the burner tube
(
5
). If required, clean as described in next step.
2.
Wearing protective gloves and a face mask,
clean the burner tube (
5
) with compressed air
to remove residues. If it is in bad condition after
cleaning, replace it.
3.
Clean the combustion chamber, see
“Check-
ing and Cleaning the Combustion Cham-
ber” on page I-62
.
Installation Procedure:
1.
Install new gasket (
6
) and burner tube (
5
) on
combustion chamber studs.
2.
Put Loctite 5972 on the threads of the com-
bustion chamber studs and install retained
nuts (
4
).
3.
Torque in a crosswise pattern at 2.5 Nm, then
repeat the operation at 4.5 Nm in a crosswise
pattern, then in a circle, at 4.5 Nm.
4.
Place new gasket (
3
) and burner plate (
2
) on
heat exchanger studs.
5.
Coat stud threads with Loctite 577.
6.
Install six retained nuts (
1
) on the studs.
7.
Torque in a crosswise pattern at 2.5 Nm, then
repeat the operation at 4.5 Nm in a crosswise
pattern, then in a circle, at 4.5 Nm.
Follow-on Task(s):
1.
Reinstall all removed access panels, refer
to
“Removing and Installing the Access
Panels” on page I-32.
2.
Restart the appliance, see
“Restarting after
Maintenance” on page I-56.
