PNEUMATIC SYSTEM (COMPRESSED
AIR)
The saw is equipped with a compressed
air system that requires the customer to provide
a minimum of 5 SCFM (standard cubic feet per
minute) of clean/dry compressed air at a
minimum of 80 PSIG (pounds per square inch
gauge pressure) (5.5 BAR) pressure.
The PNEUMATIC SYSTEM includes the
following items:
LOCKOUT VALVE
This LOCKOUT
VALVE must be actuated to disconnect the
compressed air from the saw. It is equipped with
a slide mechanism to turn the air on and off
from the system. When in the off position, the
compressed air is exhausted from the saw to
eliminate potentially dangerous trapped air from
causing injury.
Before servicing, release air
pressure from the system by
using the lockout valve and
applying a padlock to prevent
unauthorized application of
compressed air and to avoid
serious injury. The maximum
pressure that is supplied to the
system should NOT exceed
150 PSIG (10.3 BAR) to
prevent component failure and
to avoid serious injury during
normal saw operation.
FILTER/REGULATOR
The filter is equipped
with a 5-micron filter element. The regulator has
an adjustable output range of 0 to 125 PSIG (8.6
BAR) and is equipped with a 0-100 PSIG (6.9
BAR) pressure gauge.
The regulator is factory set at 80 PSIG (5.5
BAR). Do not set above 90 PSIG (6.2 BAR).
LUBRICATOR
The lubricator has a 0.6 ounce
(18 CM³) capacity. Fill the lubricator with SAE
#10 oil or a compressed air lubricant that is
compatible with Buna-N seals.
NOTE: See the Lubrication section for
additional detail regarding the lubricator
and/or filling.
NOTE: See the pneumatic schematic supplied
with this Operator’s Manual for additional
detail regarding the compressed air system
.
OIL RESERVOIR
The blade feed clutch
cylinder in the compressed air system has an oil
reservoir in the air line that extends this cylinder
rod. This reservoir is filled at the factory with
hydraulic oil. The oil reservoir is designed to
cushion the cylinder rod travel, thereby
preventing the clutch (gearbox) mechanism
from binding.
