Companding technique for Pulse Code

ASCII
American Standard Code for
Information Interchange.
AT&T
A custom ISDN protocol used by
AT&T.
aurora Duet
A hand held BRI and/or PRI ISDN
tester that enables you to verify the
integrity of public switched and private
wire ISDN connections.
B Channel
Bearer Channel. ISDN utilizes
multiplexed channels that
are
transmitted over the same physical
medium. The channels that typically
carry the user (subscriber's) voice/
data/video are referred to as Bearer
Channels.
Basic Rate
The type of ISDN circuit that is
typically used for
subscriber circuits. It consists of two B
channels and one D
channel = 144 Kbps of bidirectional
user communications.
Baud Rate
The number of line signal transitions
per second. In a simple system where
each bit is represented by a single
level it is the same as the number of bits
per second.
