Connecting the Analyzer to a Source

External Modulation
Unlike the HP/Agilent 8350, 8360, and 83750 Series sources, HP/Agilent 8340 and 8341
Series syn thesizers do not pro vide an in ternal 27.778 kHz mo dulated signal (used in A C
measuremen ts). Use the analyzer's 27.778 kHz mo dulation signal to externally mo dulate the
source, connected as describ ed in T able 2-4 .

Other Configurations
If y ou op erate the analyzer without connecting the HP/Agilent 8757 system in terface, make
the connections to the analyzer's POZ BLANK and SWEEP IN 0-10V only . Also use this
conguration with the HP/Agilent 8620 Series sw eep oscillator and with non-HP/Agilen t
sources. F or mo dulation, connect the MODULA TOR DRIVE to the source PULSE input, or
use an external mo dulator (suc h as an HP/Agilent 11665B).
