care,

adjustmen

This

is

to

vide
basic
information.
Remember
A
damaged
connector
can
destroy
an
y
connector
attac
hed
to
it.
Basic
connector
care
comprises
three
parts:
1.
visual
insp ection
2.
cleaning
3.
mec
hanical
insp ection
Visual
Inspection
Visually
insp ect
all
system
connectors
often.
Examine
connectors
for
problems
suc
h
as
con
tamination
or
corrosion,
esp ecially
on
the
con
tacting
surfaces.
Lo ok
for
deformed
threads,
burrs,
scratches,
rounded
shoulders,
and
similar
signs
of
w
ear
or
damage.
An
y
visible
problem
can
degrade
p erformance;
clean,
reinsp ect,
and,
if
necessary
,
replace
the
connector.
Cleaning
T
ry
compressed
air
rst.
Use
compressed
air
to
lo
osen
particles
on
the
connector
mating
plane
surfaces.
Clean
air
cannot
damage
a
connector,
or
leav
e
particles
or
residues
b ehind.
If
a
solven
t
is
necessary
,
use
only
isopropyl
alcohol.
If
there
is
dirt
or
con
tamination
on
a
connector
that
y
ou
cannot
remov
ed
with
compressed
air,
try
a
foam
sw
ab
or
lint-free
cleaning
cloth
moistened
with
isopropyl
alcohol.
Use
the
least
amoun
t
of
alcohol
p ossible.
Av
oid
getting
an
y
plastic
parts
in
the
connectors
w
et
with
the
alcohol.
Nev
er
spra
y
alcohol
directly
in
to
a
connector.
Chec
kthe
alcohol

dically
for
con
tamination.
