The
Agilent
85037
series
precision
detectors
ha
v
e
built-in
corrections
for
b oth
frequency
range
and
dynamic
accuracy
.
These
corrections
are
used
to
enhance
the
measuremen
t
capabilit y
of
the
detector.
The
follo wing
text
explains

w
the
corrections
are
made.

Dynamic
Accuracy
The
dynamic
accuracy
and
absolute
p o
w
er
accuracy
of
the
detector
is
measured
at
the
factory
.
Appro
ximately
150
correction
constan
ts
are
then
calculated
and
stored
in
the
EEPR
OM
of
eac
h
detector.
This
pro
vides
a
default
correction
and
is
sucien
t
to
guarantee
the
default
dynamic
accuracy
sp ecications.
T
o
obtain
maximum
p erformance,
the
detector
m
ust
b e
connected
to
the
50
MHz
calibrator
output
of
the
8757D
Option
002
and
then
c
haracterized
using
the
built-in
correction
routine
in
the
8757D.
Once
this
is
done,
the
detector
will
meet
the
enhanced
(corrected)
sp ecication
for
dynamic
accuracy
for
b oth
A
C
and
DC
measuremen
ts.
This
c
haracterization
will
remain
v
alid
un
til
the
detector
is
unplugged.
F
or
optimal
p erformance
ho
w
ev
er,
the
detector
m
ust
b e
rec
haracterized
if
its
temp erature
c
hanges
b
y
more
than
65
C.
Frequency
Response
The
85037
uses
built-in
correction
factors
to
pro
vide
the
b est
p ossible
frequency
resp onse.
The
n
um
b er
of
correction
factors
will
v
ary
with
eac
h
detector,
but
is
t
ypically
25.
These
correction
factors
are
determined
at
the
factory
and
are
stored
within
the
EEPR
OM
of
the
detector.
If
the
8757D
is
used
with
the
system
in
terface,
then
the
analyzer
will
automatically
determine
the
prop er
correction
factor
to
use;
no
user
in
terv
en
tion
is
required.
If
the
8757
system
in
terface
is
not
b eing
used,
then
the
frequency
related
correction
factors
will
b e
determined
from
the
start/stop
lab
els.
These
lab
els
can
b e
en
tered
in
to
the
8757
b
y
pressing
