RC Components
Install servo to servo tray. Fit supplied piece of silicone tubing 64 to rudder
tube 56. Apply a drop of lubricant to the rudder shaft and insert rudder into
rudder tube. Install control horn to rudder shaft. Slowly push down on control
horn to compress the silicone tubing, then tighten screw on horn. This procedure will ensure that the rudder shaft is watertight.
Connect pushrod to servo and control horn. Secure pushrod on both ends with plastic clips.
Use Velcro strip to secure the battery between the legs of the motor mount and place battery as far forward as possible. Should you prefer to use
two batteries, place batteries to left and right of motor mount. In either case: test runs are necessary to determine the correct position of the
battery/batteries.
Use Velcro to install the speed control next to the motor on the inside of the hull. Install the receiver at a distance from speed control and battery.
Turn on your transmitter and connect receiver, motor and speed control to the battery. Check rudder control throw and direction. 15° on either side
will do for the beginning until you get used to the model.
Test Run
Take your time to get used to the speed and handling of your new model. The Manta 02 is a prop rider and will touch the water at full speed with
sponsons and prop only. Small turn fins attached to the inside of the sponsons will improve handling and allow for tighter turns. However, we
recommend that you slow down before you initiate turns until you get a feeling for the model.
The cockpit does not necessarily need to be sealed with tape because it has a tight fit on the hull. We recommend, though, that you secure the hood
by means of a rubber band attached to prop shaft and steering shaft. For additional safety use styrofoam or similar to make the hull unsinkable.
