4.4.2 Fire protection
requirements
In terms of the fire protection
installation requirements for
setting up the ventilation
system, note the federal state
law rulings, especially the
official guideline on fire
protection requirements of
ventilation systems in its most
recent version.
If you are using a smoke
switch for the early
identification of the
presence of smoke and to
prevent it spreading within
residential units through
the ventilation system,
please refer to Chapter
9.6.5, connection option 8.
4.5 Regulations for fulfilling
passive energy house criteria
4.5.1 Frost protection equip-
ment for the heat exchanger
In order to guarantee con-
tinuous ventilation, the outside
air must be preheated, when
outside air temperatures fall
below 0 °C. We recommend the
following components for instal-
lation in the outside air inlet:
EW earth heat exchanger or
electrical preheating register
(ERH 16-2), see Chapter 9.6.5,
Connection option 7. The
switching temperature can be
set at the rotary knob, see
supplied instructions.
4.5.2 Switching off a hydraulic
heat register
When a hydraulic heat register
is installed in the supply air
channel, the heat register must
be protected against frost
damage. This can be guaran-
teed by switching off the unit.
We recommend installing the
thermostat TH 10 as a safety
device, see wiring diagram. The
switch-off temperature must be
set to 5 °C at the thermostat.
