5.2.4.3. New devices, groups and families.
The application allows the user to add manually groups and families and to modify and delete
devices, groups and families (even if they are assigned to buttons).
These are the modifications that can be done:
•
For devices, its name and buttons configuration can be changed.
•
For groups, its name can be changed, as well as the selection of the devices forming it.
•
For families, its name can be changed, as well as the selection of the identifying color and
the devices forming it.
Devices and groups can only be deleted individually (the selected one), while several selected
families can be deleted at once.
Any of these actions will be updated in the software and devices in real-time.
The addition of devices is only possible automatically, when the application receives an internal
message generated by the system publishing their discovery.
Group addition is automatically performed with the reception of a internal message indicating
which devices belong to that group. It can also be done manually using the "
New group
" option
of the "
Edit
" drop-down menu (keyboard shortcut "G"): in this case, no devices will be
associated initially to it. Group are added to the bottom of the devices list, in the upper left
quadrant of the main screen. The application informs each device about the members that its
group has (devices that belong to it).
It's also possible to add manually a group from its icon in the lower line:
A family is automatically added when a device associated with it is discovered, or manually
using the "
New family
" option of the "
Edit
" drop-down menu (keyboard shortcut "F"): in this
case, no devices will be initially associated to it.
