IR 4430 Operating Instructions
Requirements
To use the device as internet radio, the following requirements must be
met:
A broadband internet connection is available.
■
To save costs, we recommend a flat rate connection.
Devices for accessing this connection are available (preferably a
■
router).
You are familiar with the procedures of internet access.
■
You know the password for the WEP or WPA encryption of the
■
WLAN and you are able to enter it when requested to do so by the
IR 4430.
You can enter the MAC address of a trusted device in the access
■
point if your WLAN only allows the use of such devices (on this, see
the instruction manual of the access point). You will find the MAC
address of the IR 4430 in the settings menu in “Network Config/
Show Configuration/MAC Address“.
The access point is ready to use.
■
Operation in WLAN
After turning on (or directly after setting the language during first use),
the device will display the messages “Starting“, “Initializing Network“
and “Network Search“. If you run the device within the service area
of one or several WLANs, a list of available networks will be displayed
afterwards.
Select the name (ESSID) of the network you want to connect to
using the control knob “SCROLL/ENTER“ (3).
If the WLAN is protected, the device will then ask you to enter the ac-
cess key (WEP or WAP).
Use the control knob “SCROLL/ENTER“ (3) to successively move and
select the characters of the key to the center of the display. Mind
upper and lower case!
Correct any incorrect input with “BACK“ (18).
Complete the key input with the sign END .
The device will successively display the messages “Connect to Network”
and “Search for Gateway”.
After that, all functions of the Internet Radio IR 4430 are available.
If either of the messages “Invalid Key“ or “Network Error“ is displayed, an
error had occurred while entering the key. Enter the correct key.
The device saves the connection data entered once for a specific net-
work, i.e., when turning the device on the next time it will automatically
reconnect to this network.
