Appendix A Serial Port Settings
The serial port COM5 on TPC-1260G is adjustable. It can be set to RS-
232, RS-422 or RS-485. This port is designed with auto data flow control
capability. In other words, the TPC-1260G can automatically detect the
data flow direction at this port when the two-wired RS-485 communica-
tion is activated. Both the jumper and software settings are required to set
the serial port.

This section uses Windows XP as an example to demonstrate how to set
the serial port via software. Please open “My Computer”->”Control
Panel”->”System”->”Device Manager”->”PCI Communication Port
(COM5)”->”Settings” as shown in Figure A.2.
