Watchdog Timer
A watchdog timer automatically resets TPC-1260G if the system freezes.
A program that does not respond in time will make the watchdog restart
the machine automatically. This is useful for systems that are not fre-
quently monitored, but need to be restarted quickly if anything is wrong.
The watchdog timer will only be active if a time span is selected and the
watchdog timer is enabled. When the watchdog is enabled, there is a
“NO” reset signal periodically sent to the watchdog hardware. If the sys-
tem freezes, the “NO” reset signal will not reach the watchdog hardware
and the system will reset. If the “Test” button is pressed, the watchdog
will act as if the machine is frozen and reboot it after the watchdog
response time. If the machine reboots as expected after the watchdog
response time, the watchdog is proven to be working properly.
The response time can be set with a combo box as shown below.
