2.9 External Pulse Control Input
The pulses output function of MCX314AS chip is controlled by register
setting or by external pulse command input (nEXOP+, nEXOP-). There
are two output pulse mode for the external control pin. One is fixed pulse
output mode, and the other is continuous output mode. In ADAM-5240, it
provides Jog and Hand wheel functions that allow you driving motors
through external Hand wheel or Jog equipment. In Jog mode, it is corre-
sponding to the “Continuous Output Mode,” and in Hand wheel mode, it
is corresponding to the “Fixed Pulse Output Mode.” These functions are
progressed without CPU involved on host PC. When the input signal is
enabled during fixed pulse drive, the pulse specified will be output. When
continuous output drive is enabled, the drive pulse will be continually
output at the period of signal Low. This signal should be used in combi-
nation with external power DC12 ~ 24V. The response time of circuitry
should take about 10 msec because of the delay of photo
coupled and RC filter.
