SIDE BROOM MAINTENANCE
Side broom adjustment
NOTE
Brooms of various hardness are available.
This procedure is applicable to all types of brooms.
Drive the machine on a level
fl
oor.
1.
Engage the parking brake.
2.
Turn the ignition key (64) and start the machine.
3.
Lower the side broom with the lever (52) and let it run for 1 minute.
4.
When lowered, the side broom (9) (15, optional) should be contacting the
fl
oor as shown in the
fi
gure (A and B, Fig. 4).
5.
To adjust, loosen the knob (A, Fig. 5) and operate on the side broom adjuster (B) by considering the following:

When turning clockwise, the main broom pressure is decreased.
•
When turning counter-clockwise, the main broom pressure is increased.
•
After adjusting, lock the adjuster with the knob (A).
Repeat steps 1-5 to check the proper adjustment of the side broom height.

When the broom is too worn out the adjustment is no more possible; replace the broom according to the instructions in the

next paragraph.
NOTE
The side brooms (9) (15,
optional
) should be replaced for optimal performance when the bristles are worn to a length of 3
in (75 mm). When replacing the side brooms, adjust the height.
