5.3.8.1
POTS Connections
To connect POTS, complete the following steps:
1. Route the subscriber wires through the cable entry on the bottom of the enclosure. A tie
wrap point is provided for wire management (see
).
2. If using an RJ-11 connector directly, it is recommended that the cable be terminated with
the RJ-11 plugs after the subscriber wires have been pulled through the cable entry. Each
RJ-11 connector is wired for a single line. There are two RJ-11 jack holders molded into
the enclosure.
3. If using the Terminal Bridges, loosen each screw and attach the Green wire to the
TIP
terminal, and the Red wire to the
RING
terminal and tighten.
4. Plug the RJ-11 connectors from the Terminal Bridges into their respective jacks.

TELEPHONE TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Identify the bad line.
2. Disconnect the plug from the appropriate POTS jack and plug
any working telephone into that jack.
If the telephone works, there is a problem inside the house.
If the telephone does not work, contact your service provider.
3. Remove the telephone and replace the plug into the POTS jack.
4. Close the unit.
This device is intended to be attached to a receiver that is not used to
receive over-the-air broadcast signals. Connection of this device in any
other fashion may cause harmful interference to radio communications
ans is in violation of the FCC Rules, part 15.
