BIOS Settings and Driver Installation

SP-15W03 

Setup Menus

LBA/Large Mode

It is used for enabling/disabling IDE LBA mode. When Auto is set, 
BIOS checks device to see whether it supports LBA mode or not, if 
yes, BIOS will configure device to use LBA mode.

Block (Multi-Sector Transfer)

This option allows device to transfer multi-sector at the same time. 
When it is set to Disabled, only one sector can be transferred.

PIO Mode

This option allows you to select PIO mode. The settings are Auto, 
0, 1, 2, 3, and 4.

DMA Mode

This option allows you to select DMA mode for IDE device.

S.M.A.R.T.

This option is used for enabling/disabling IDE S.M.A.R.T. (Smart 
monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology)

32Bit Data Transfer

This option is used for enabling/disabling IDE 32Bit data transfer.

Hard Disk Write Protect

This option allows you to prevent hard disk from writing. If it is set 
to Enabled, no data can be written to hard disk.

IDE Detect Time Out (Sec)

This item allows you to force BIOS to delay the initialization of IDE 
devices for up to 35 seconds. The delay gives your IDE devices 
more time to spin up before BIOS initializes them.
