9.3 OTDR display and other Configuration
Including setting of save method, testing display area and etc. Parameters setting in
this part won’t affect the testing result.
Setting
Content
Auto name
If be selected, the trace files saving will adopt auto name,
the content in file name editing frame will be used as prefix
of auto name; if not be selected, the auto name won’t be
used, need to enter file name.
Display grid line
If be selected, the grid line will be displayed when trace be
displayed, otherwise not be displayed.
Support multi
traces
If be selected, then support multi trace testing and display,
otherwise only test single trace and display.
navigator window
If be selected, there will be a trace navigator window on
the upper right on the trace window, it’s easier to check the
contracted drawing of whole trace. Meanwhile, can check
or move magnify the windows position.
If not be selected, can’t see the navigator window and
system default select “navigator window”
Display the zoom
toolbar
If be selected, there will be a zoom toolbar on the right side
of the trace window; if not be selected, there will be no
zoom toolbar but a bigger trace display zone
length unit
Set the length unit displayed.

9.4 Real time and average test mode
Under sampling and accumulating condition, test mode has real time and average
mode.

Under real time mode, instrument test the external optical fiber connection in
real time and refresh display testing trace in real time. When instrument
working under real time mode, user click [
] or press
“
”(Start/Stop) on front panel, the test will be stopped or the test will
proceeding all the time.

Under average mode, instrument accumulate and average the testing data
accord to the time user choose, test time is equal or greater than test time
user set, display the result after the testing finished.
