If using eSATA…
The eSATA cable has eSATA (also called "SATA
II") connectors at both ends. The connectors
are keyed, so they will only plug in one way. Be
sure to correctly insert the connectors, or you
may damage the Drive and void the warranty.
1. Plug one end of the eSATA cable into the
eSATA port on the Drive.
. Plug the other end into an eSATA port on your computer.
Some early SATA PCI host adapter cards used SATA I ports, which
are shaped differently than eSATA ports. If your computer has
a SATA I port, you will need to purchase a cable with an eSATA/
SATA II connector at one end and a SATA I connector at the
other end.
Step 3: Flip the Drive's On-Off switch to turn it on.
In a few moments the Drive will mount to your computer's operting
system…
Windows users
will see a new drive icon/letter in My Computer.
Mac users
will see a new icon on the Desktop and in the Finder.
Once the Drive is mounted, it's ready to use.
