Opening the server
Caution: Before you proceed, make sure that you have turned off
the system and all peripherals connected to it. Read the
Pre-installation instructions section on page 22.
You need to open the server before you can install upgrade
components. The left side panel is removable to allow access to the
server’s internal components. Refer to the following sections for
instructions.
Removing the side panel

Perform the pre-installation instructions described on page 22.

Remove the two thumb screws on the back panel (1).

Slide the locking switch down (2) and slide the side panel toward
the rear of the chassis to disengage it (3).
