Information about Installed Parts of the PB300 Li-Ion
22.1 Lithium-ion Battery
Maintenance of lithium-ion batteries
The lithium-ion battery is maintenance-free.
Warnings for working with the batteries
22.2 Charger
The built-in charger can be connected to sockets with a supply voltage of from 180 to 265 V AC and 50 Hz.
Once the operating temperature is reached, the charge process begins immediately after the device is
connected to the supply voltage.
Working in close vicinity to the batteries may be hazardous. Batteries can produce explosive
gases. Smoking, sparks or open fire must be prevented in the vicinity of the batteries.
Wear eye protection and protective clothes. Do not touch your eyes while you are working with the
batteries. Wash your hands thoroughly after working with batteries.
Be careful when using metal objects close to batteries. This could lead to a short circuit, causing
the battery to explode.
Take off personal objects such as rings, arm bands, watches and chains when you are working
with batteries. In the event of a short circuit, they could lead to serious injuries.
Note that the ambient temperature during charging should be at least 15 °C to achieve an adequate
charge state in the assigned charging time.
Make certain the polarity is correct! Comply with the maximum AC load (see the technical data
section).
The connection to the power grid must be in compliance with the national provisions for electrical
connections. If a charge cable is faulty, please contact the manufacturer.
Deep discharge protection is integrated into the PB300 Li-Ion to prevent deep discharge under
normal operating conditions. After shutdown by deep discharge protection, the batteries should
be charged soon to prevent further deep discharge by way of self-discharge.
