16.2 Transport Instructions for the PB300 Li-Ion
17
Warnings
The lithium-ion battery must be transported in an upright position in suitable packaging. Never
raise the lithium-ion battery by the two connection cables. Always use the side handles instead.
The battery is inspected in accordance with the UN manual of inspections and criteria, part III,
subsection 38.3 (ST/SG/AC.10/11 version 5).
For transport as a single battery, the battery belongs to category UN3480, class 9, packaging
group II. These regulations must be observed during transport.
If the complete PB300 Li-Ion is used, the PB300 Li-Ion with the built-in lithium-ion battery belongs
to category UN3481 and these regulations must be observed during transport.
In both cases a hazardous goods sticker 100 x 100 mm for lithium-ion batteries class 9 must be
affixed to the package on the outside so it is clearly visible.
Hazardous goods sticker class 9
Before the PB300 Li-Ion is opened it must be de-energized with the On/Off switch and the power
supply connecting cable must be removed. Voltages up to 1000 V may occur in the DC/AC
converter. If this device is operated or handled improperly, persons may be injured or even killed.
This may also lead to significant material damage. Touching the parts of the PB300 Li-Ion that
conduct voltage, especially on the output side of the DC/AC converter, can also lead to serious or
even fatal injuries.
After an automatic shutdown due to overheating or overload, the converter may switch on again
automatically. For further information about this and possible malfunctions and their causes,
please consult the following section: Information about Installed Parts, or in the enclosed
operating manual for the DC/AC converter.
