Any object coming into contact with human blood is a
potential source of infection (see: Clinical and Laboratory
Standards Institute: Protection of Laboratory Workers from
Occupationally Acquired Infections; Approved Guideline --
Third Edition; CLSI document M29-A3, 2005).
3. Remove a new test strip
from the container. Be
sure to tightly replace
the container cap after
removing the test strip.
4. Within three minutes,
insert a test strip into the
test strip slot with silver-
coloured bars facing up
and toward the meter.
The meter turns on
automatically.
Check that the code
number on the meter
matches the code on the
container of test strips you
are using.
When the blood drop
symbol flashes, you are
ready to perform a test.
