9.6 Day/night control (D/N CNTL
In insufficient light conditions, the camera usually switches automatically from day operation
(colour) to operation (B/W). During the switchover, the IR filter on the front of the camera is
removed mechanically. The camera now works in the more light-intensive B/W mode and is also
sensitive to infrared light. The switchover can also be scheduled or event-controlled.
Select D/N CNTL and press ENTER, then use the RIGHT/LEFT keys to select from the following:
LUX/DELAY: In this mode, the camera switches to night operation following a specifiable time
(DELAY) and if a specifiable brightness value (LUX) is not reached, and switches back to day
operation when the LUX value is exceeded.
SCHEDULE: The EYSEO VdS day/night camera has an integrated real-time clock, so that you can
specify a time at which the camera changes from day to night operation or vice versa. The
camera then changes from day to night operation (or vice versa) at the set time.
EXTERNAL (event-controlled): In this mode, the camera changes from day to night operation
when an external signal is received, such as a signal from an external twilight sensor or infrared
illumination. The digital input/output (GND I/O) is used as signal input in this mode only.
DAY MODE: In this mode, the camera remains permanently in day mode (colour). There is no
switchover to night mode.
NIGHT MODE: In this mode, the camera remains permanently in night mode (B/W). There is no
switchover to day mode.
ENGINEER: This mode is for the camera manufacturer only.
Select the mode suitable for your application and then press ENTER.
This submenu applies to LUX/DELAY mode:
Program the camera as follows:
1. Select LUX LEVEL with the cursor and set a brightness value using the RIGHT/LEFT keys.
HI LVL = ca. 3 lux; the camera switches very early from day to night mode.
MID LVL = ca. 1.5 lux; recommended setting;
LOX LVL = ca. 1 lux; the camera switches very late from day to night mode.
Confirm your input with ENTER.
2. Select DELAY TIME with the cursor and set a delay time using the RIGHT/LEFT keys. If the
time you set is too short, the camera will switch modes too soon due to external influences
such as the headlights of a passing car. The recommended setting is 10SEC.
