2.3.12
SAM600 system configuration mismatch
When configuring a SAM600 system, PCM600 verifies that the configured
SAM600 module system matches the detected physical SAM600 module system.
The equivalency check requires that the SAM600 module type and SAM600
module identifier match at each position in the SAM600 module system and each
SAM600 module is connected to its neighboring SAM600 modules by the same
ports as defined in the configuration.
If the user attempts to write a configuration to the SAM600 system that is not
matching the physical SAM600 module system, then PCM600 issues a warning.
The user may still choose to write the configuration.
SAM600 modules verify their configuration against the SAM600 neighbors
detected on the SAM600 system bus. If a SAM600 module receives a new
configuration and the configured SAM600 neighbors cannot be detected within two
minutes after startup, then the configuration is discarded and the module reverts
back to the “
Wait for Configuration
”
state. The purpose of this behavior is to re-
open all communication ports that may be closed according to the configuration
and keep the whole SAM600 module chain reachable for PCM600. The two
minute time frame allows all SAM600 modules in the chain to start up and verify
their neighboring devices.
Once a SAM600 module has verified its neighboring devices, the configuration is
accepted as valid. If the SAM600 module detects a mismatch between configured
and detected SAM600 neighbors, it announces a topology error. See
Section
for details on SAM600 supervision and
Section
announcement.
