Pyroelectric motion sensor (PIR)
Introduction
The Detector of Motion is a device for interiors completely automatic capable of controlling up to
1200W of incandescent lamps or 320vth of fluorescent lamps. It is not only a lighting controller; it also
has the capacity of detecting light movements in a 3 m radio around the sensor. It will also keep the
lighting connected even when you are at the phone detecting your little movements. It also includes
the lighting memory function, which means that the sensor is able to register and memorize the level
of lux when connecting the lighting with the Motion Micro Sensor.
Therefore once the level of lux is greater, even if the movement continues, the sensor will disconnect
the interior lighting lamp, thus saving energy.
Simply taking full advantage of its versatile functionality, you can enjoy the comfort of its appropriate
design.
Note: Please read this manual completely before installing the system.
Safety Cautions
Be sure to disconnect the mains power supply before you install the
device.
Make sure cabling power comes from a circuit with a magneto-thermal
switch appropriate to the load, to perform the short circuit protection or
from a suitable fuse.
The detector is designed to be placed in the roof.

The installation of this device should be performed by a qualified electric technician
Choosing an assembly location
Avoid locating the detector along with heating sources, devices of air conditioning and objects
that are able to rapidly change temperature.
Before assembling it, take into account that the motion sensor is more sensitive to the
movement produced obliquely to the field and less sensitive to the frontal movement towards
the detector.

Note: The detection of little movements can be realized inside a 3 m radio around the sensor, the usual
movement can be detected in a 8m radio around the sensor.
Installation
To facilitate the installation it is essential to have ready an auger and a screwdriver.
Select a location for the unit based on the coverage angles shown in the

Cabling Instructions
(1) Disconnect the power network supply.
(2) With a flat end screwdriver, separate the motion sensor from the power and electric supply device.

The motion detector is equipped with two relay outputs with main different functions:
Output 1 : Lighting / domestic applications.
Spinning roulette R1 is designed to set the timer output-1. It allows you to control lighting or domestic
applications of the house for a maximum consumption of 1200W.
Product 2: Dry Contact.
The spinning roulette R2 is designed to set the output-2 timer. It allows you to control any domestic
application up to a maximum current of 2A.
At the end of the cabling and connection, place the power equipment in the ceiling’s flush mounting
box and secure it with screws. Then insert the motion sensor in the power equipment

Lighting system adjustment
Please test the operation of the motion detector:

Place the spinning controls R1, R2 and LUX (the LUX lighting control) at the start of the line in
the test position.

The detector connection to the electric power network needs at least one minute of preheating
until the outputs then disconnect.
The outputs connect when walking through the detection area. When the movement stops the
outputs keep connected during one second and then disconnect.
(1) TIMER ADJUSTMENTS (R1 y R2)
The timer adjustment to the disconnection controls the time the relay outputs will keep
connected after the detection. There are two adjustment spinning roulettes – R1 and R2 with
different adjustment times.
The adjustment rage of R1 is from 5 seconds to 12 minutes, while the R2 range is from 10
seconds to 30 minutes. (FIGURE 8)

Note: When selecting
, a short pulse of time is produced in the corresponding output relay contact.
This allows controlling the general timer of the staircase light for example.
(2) LIGHTING ADJUSTMENT (LUX)
When the automatic operation mode is enabled, the LUX lighting adjustment spinning roulette
determines to what level of lighting starts working the R1 timer associated with output-1.
Spinning roulette R2 associated with exit-2 does not depend on the illumination level adjusted on
spinning roulette LUX. Works at any level of illumination.
When the LUX lighting spinning roulette level adjusts to the position “T”, the output will always
activate, day or night. When changing the roulette position to the other end, to the moon position, the
output is activated only at night.

Operation
(1) AUTOMATIC OPERATION:
After at least 1 minute of preheating period, after connecting the detector to a power network, the
sensor will be working according to the adjustments position R1, R2 and LUX.
(2) LIGHTING MEMORY
In automatic mode, the motion detector detonates with the movement and automatically registers
and memorizes the initial lighting level. When the ambient light “seen” by the detector is 1,5 times the
memorized initial level, the detector disconnects the output and thus saves energy.
This feature is only valid for output 1 associated to the spinning roulette R1 which adjusts the
temporization to the disconnection and for timers greater than one minute. The spinning roulette for
the lighting level adjustment is irrelevant in this use.
