IM and Presence
The AMC enables basic mobile presence and the ability to chat with your smartphone.
Immediately after the required settings have been configured (see infobox below), the
Online/Offline Presence Status will be displayed in the Home screen.
Required Settings
UC has to be turned
On
(refer to
??
) and the
Default IM Host
(refer to
11.3.5
)
has to be configured correctly on the AMC, and profiles of
XMPP Endpoints
and
XMPP User Accounts
or
SIMPLE User Accounts
have to be created on
the AMCC.
10.1
Adding Contacts
Users will be added automatically if the domain of an e-mail address (configured in the
native phone book) matches your
Default IM Host
or if your contact has a field entry
called "Detail IM:".
Format of IM IDs
The AMC imports contacts from the native phone book, where an IM ID
should look like this: im_user@im_server_domain.
Click on
Options
in the
Contacts
view of the
AMC and select the option
Reload
. By doing so
your AMC will import the
Contacts
of the native
phonebook. It will check the email addresses of
your contacts. This will be done automatically
whenever you restart your phone.
If the host of these email addresses belongs to your configured
Default IM Host
, it will
send requests for the status of these contacts. If your contacts are online and confirm
this request, you will see their basic presence status in the
Contacts
view. If a contact
is also a user of the AMC you will instantly see their presence status (no invitation has
to be accepted).
