10 IM and Presence
Limitation
The AMC currently does not provide a way to completely delete an already
accepted contact from your XMPP roster. Please use your desktop client to
accomplish this. A possibility to delete IM contacts will be implemented in a
later version of the AMC.
10.2
Being Added
If somebody adds you as an IM contact, a pop-up window will prompt you to accept or
decline this invitation. If you accept an IM invitation, the contact’s IM ID will be stored
and you will be able to see whether he is online, offline etc.
10.3
Chatting
If IM and Presence has been enabled by your administrator,
Start Chat
becomes avail-
able in the menu.
Type in a message and click the main button or click on
Options
and select
Send
.
Select
Cancel
to exit the IM screen. While a chat is in progress, the AMC will give you
the options
Clear
(to clear the on-screen messages) and
End Chat
.

Chats can also be started from the
Contacts
view. Simply move the cursor to the email
address of the contact, click on options and select
Start Chat
. This will also bring you
to the
Messaging
screen.
