During the tests on dynamic load and integrity by the test institution following EN 795B and CEN/TS 16415 type C a maximum of
6.0 kN was measured at the end anchorage.
5.2.2
Minimum free space below a crash site of the HERKULES system
It is essential for safety that the position of the anchor device and the way work is carried out are chosen in a way that an eventual
free fall is limited
to a minimum. Generally the HERKULES system should be placed above the user’s head in order to limit the fall
zone as much as possible. The fall zone can be reduced significantly by using an adjustable lanyard with the smallest possible
length. When calculating the free space at an eventual crash site, consider that the assembly height of the HERKULES system has
got an essential influence on it. The required free space below a crash site of the HERKULES system varies with the fall factor and
the used field width of the HERKULES system.
5.2.3
System configuration - assembly steps / use:
Assembly to stationary single anchor points
Attach the HERKULES system to a stationary anchor point with a karabiner according to EN 362 If the HERKULES system is used
in combination with stationary single anchor points, they have to meet EN 795 and be designed for the use as final point of a
horizontal rope system according to EN 795 type C (Particular requirements for basic stability and resistance).
1.
Choose at least 2 single anchor points according to EN 795.
ATTENTION:
If the maximum field width of 12 m is exceeded, it is
necessary to assemble additional anchoring loops as intermediate rope brackets.
2.
Hook the one-hand karabiner of the HERKULES system into the anchor eyelet of the single anchor point no. 1.
3.
The one-hand karabiner locks automatically -

Hook the BSK karabiner on the fall arrester into the anchor eyelet of the single anchor point no. 2

The BSK karabiner must be locked manually with the screw lock -

Tauten the rope with manual force by means of the fall arrester. The rope should be approached to the straight connection
between both points.
7.
The HERKULES system is ready for use now.
Assembly by means of anchoring loops according to EN 795 type B
If the HERKULES system is attached to a sufficiently stable substructure (e.g. beam, steel girder etc.) by means of an anchoring loop
according to EN 795 type B, it must be suitable for absorbing the resulting forces in a non-destructive way. Please also refer to the
Notes on anchor devices and to item

Put at least 2 anchor loops according to the requirements of the instructions around a sufficiently solid substructure.
ATTENTION:
If the maximum field width of 12 m is exceeded, it is necessary to assemble additional anchoring loops as intermediate rope
brackets.

Hook the one-hand karabiner of the HERKULES system into the anchor loop no. 1.

between both points.

The HERKULES system is ready for use now.
Field width: Distance between 2 attachment points
Minimum individual field width = 4 m
Maximum field width = 12 m
If the maximum field width is exceeded, it is necessary to assemble one or more intermediate rope brackets, depending on the length.
Do not fall below the minimum field width.
Example: If the HERKULES system is stretchedovera length of 24m, atleast 1 intermediate
rope bracket must be provided (field width = 2 x 12m).
Intermediate rope bracket
A stationary single anchor points according to EN 795A or an anchor loop according to EN795B has to be used. The anchor loop has
to be attached to a sufficiently stable substructure (e.g. beam, steel girder etc.), which is suitable for absorbing the resulting forces in
a non-destructive way (see item 5.1). See also item: Note on anchor devices! The connection between the single anchor point or the
anchor loop and the kernmantle rope of the HERKULES system is made by means of a karabiner according to EN 362. Attention:
The karabiner of the intermediate rope brackets may only be hooked into the static kernmantle rope

and must not be fixed or
knotted!
