3 For Red Hat 2.4 kernels, type:
cp /mnt/***/3w-xxxx.o /lib/modules/
***kernel string***/kernel/drivers/scsi
4 Edit the /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file as follows:
After the lines:
#Start up swapping.
action “Activating swap partitions” swapon -a
add the following lines:
For Red Hat 7.0 and older, type:
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/scsi/
3w-xxxx.o
For Red Hat 7.1 and newer, type:
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/
kernel/drivers/scsi/scsi_mod.o
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/
kernel/drivers/scsi/sd_mod.o
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/***kernel string***/
kernel/drivers/scsi/3w-xxxx.o
5 Afterwards, halt the system, add the storage switch and reboot.
During reboot, the new storage switch should be recognized.
Afterwards, the Hardware Discover utility should pop up.
6 Press return to enter the Hardware Discover utility.
7 Select the Configure Device option. The system boot completes
and drives are now available.
