6.1.3. SPAN CALIBRATION
1. Refer to Section 6.1.2. CONNECTING THE GAS CYLINDER TO MONITOR to connect the gas
cylinder.
2. Press and hold the right button. The
Zero Calibration
screen appears. Wait until the Zero
Calibration completes and the monitors goes to the Span Calibration, or press the right button, or
wait for 60 seconds to exit.
3. Press the left button to confirm the span calibration, and the screen displays APLY GAS (Apply
Gas) (see Figure 6-3: SPAN Calibration ).
4. Apply gas from the regulator and attach the Calibration Adapter to the device (see Figure 6-2:
SPAN Calibration - Calibration Adapter Attached ).
5. Press the left button. The monitor starts to countdown (see Figure 6-3: SPAN Calibration ).
6. Wait for the display to read
SPAN PASS
(see Figure 6-3: SPAN Calibration ).
7. Verify the monitor responds to target gas:
○
green LED flashes once every 5 seconds
○
beeps once every 5 seconds
○
vibrates once every 5 seconds.
8. Press the right button or wait 60 seconds to go to the Exit screen.
9. Press the left button or wait for 60 seconds to return to normal reading screen.

10. After an unsuccessful calibration, the monitor LCD displays FAIL . Verify that the monitor does all
of the following:
○
red LED flashes once every 2 seconds
WARNING: READ, UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, INCLUDING
LABELS AND MSDS PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE
CALIBRATION GAS. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR
DEATH.
NOTE: The device has an automatic second timer that is enabled when countdown screen
is displayed (refer to Figure 6-3: SPAN Calibration ).
