TMA Grand Master 2.1 – User’s Guide
5 Using TMA Grand Master
6. If you want to remove a donor block from the device, click at the bottom right corner of
the donor block thumbnail displayed at the donor panel.
5.5 Launching the transfer process
The TMA Grand Master is capable of creating TMA blocks and core sampling into PCR tubes at the
same project, or you may as well use any of the two options exclusively. If you want to use the PCR
sampling function of TMA Grand Master, simply insert the necessary amount of PCR cassettes into
the designated slots. The software automatically scans their presence and positions during loading
block and/or cassettes to donor trays.
The PCR button on the left of the donor block image is automatically displayed if a PCR cassette is
properly inserted to its slot on the donor tray selected to work on.
NOTE:
The first tube position must always be on the left bottom of the cassette, and the cover plate
tab faces to the left side of the device.
After you have activated the PCR function by clicking the PCR button, make sure to insert cleaning
blocks (or mark a sufficient amount of recipient block as cleaning blocks).
You can use TMA Grand Master in mixed mode (TMA and PCR) and the software makes it available for
you to select some of the blocks on recipient trays as cleaning blocks. Only if the PCR mode is
activated you can select a recipient block as a cleaning block. To mark a recipient block as a cleaning
block click the icon at the right side of the block thumbnail image.
