
Opening up holes in the covering
Using a hot fine tipped soldering iron or sharp hobby knife, trim the necessary openings in the covering
for installing the landing gear, servos, servo horns, wing screws, belly vents, wing locating pins, servo
arms, etc. Work slowly and carefully to make sure you cut the openings YOU need for your build.
If you use a soldering iron, it tends to melt the edge of the covering, sealing it to the wood. If you use a
knife, we recommend following up with a covering iron to seal the edges around the openings you’ve just
made.
