Powering on the Firewall

Turn on the power source.

Turn on the power switch on the power module of the firewall.
Checklist/Operations after Power-on
After powering on the firewall, check that:
1) The LEDs on the MPU are normal. For the status of the LEDs, refer to “Table 1-2 Description of the
device state LEDs” in Chapter 1 “Firewall Overview”.
2) The ventilation system works normally. You can hear that the fans are working.
3) The configuration terminal displays information normally. You can see the startup window on the
local configuration terminal. For more information, refer to “Startup Process” on page 5-5.
4) After completing the power-on self-test (POST), the system prompts you to press
Enter
. When the
command line prompt appears, you can proceed to configure the firewall.
Startup Process
After power-on, the firewall initializes its memory, and then runs the extended BootWare. The following
information appears on the terminal screen:
