Chapter 4 Repeater Mode

WRE6605 User’s Guide

32

• When there are 2.4G and 5G uplink connections between the wireless router/AP and the WRE6605

and each with a different SSID. The WRE6605 uses the 2.4G SSID for its 2.4G downlink connection to the

2.4G wireless clients, and the 5G SSID for its 5G wireless clients respectively. The client will know
whether they are connected to 2.4 G or 5G WiFi.

• When there are 2.4G and 5G uplink connections with a single SSID from the router to the WRE6605, the

WRE6605 uses the same SSID for both downlink connections to the 2.4G and 5G wireless clients. The

client will not know if they are connected to 2.4G or 5G WiFi.

Note: If the wireless router’s SSID is unavailable, the WRE6605’s SSID will also be unavailable.

Note: If the wireless router/AP supports dual band, the WRE6605’s uplink connection will

prioritize 5G WiFi.
