Hardware Connections

Figure 4-5 CO and USER Telco-50 Connectors

Connect the non-VES-1012 end of the Telco cable to a Main Distribution Frame (MDF) or attach RJ-11
connectors to that end and connect to an RJ-11 patch panel or directly to a P841 VDSL modem(s).

4.2.3 WAN Port (Ethernet) Connections

Connect ports 13 and 14 of the VES-1012 to a WAN (Gigabyte or Fiber) Ethernet switch using straight-through
Category 5 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cables with RJ-45 connectors.

You may stack VES-1012 switches up to the number of ports available on the WAN switch.

If you enable port trunking, make sure the WAN switch also supports port trunking. See your

VES-1012 User’s

Guide

for more details.
