The following table describes the labels in this screen.

4.3 The MAC ACL Screen

Click

WLAN > ESSID Definition > MAC ACL

to open this screen. This is where you can

configure Access Control permissions on a per-ESSID basis. The Access Control List (ACL)
dictates which computers are allowed to connect to an ESSID. Every computer’s network
adapter possesses a Media Access Control (MAC) address, an ostensibly unique 48-bit
hexadecimal identification tag which the NXC-8160 can use to either grant or deny permission
to the computer when it tries to connect to an ACL-configured ESSID.

If the MAC ACL is not configured for a particular ESSID, then any MAC address - and
subsequently any computer with a functioning network adapter - can connect to it.
