- Always use safety equipment when cutting along or across the workpiece.
- Always press the work piece firmly up against the lengthwise or angled
fence.
- When rip-sawing narrow workpieces, always use a push-stick.
- Never reach behind or over the saw blade with your hand.
- Remove the rip fence when cutting across the workpiece.
- Always switch off the saw before releasing a jammed saw blade. Switch the
saw off immediately to avoid damaging the motor.
- Always switch off the saw before releasing a jammed saw blade. Never
reach into the area of the saw blade, while it is running.
- Provide suitable supports at the end and sides of the saw bench to prevent
broad or long workpieces from tilting.
- Prevent workpieces kicking back by:
keeping the saw blade sharp,
keeping the rip fence parallel to the saw blade,
not clearing the workpiece until it has passed right through the blade,
not cutting along distorted or warped workpieces without a straight edge
that may be slid along the rip fence.
- Avoid changing hands or your grip so that your hand may suddenly slip and
easily come into contact with the saw blade.
- Saw only wood or materials which are like wood.
- Replace worn bench inserts.

When using extension cords, ensure that their cross section is correct. It must
not be smaller than the values shown in the bench.
