SkyZhone 1600, 1400, 1200 Hardware Install Guide
Initial Configuration
Using the Ethernet Interface
The Ethernet port is used to configure the SkyZhone access point using the factory default
settings. The Ethernet port on the SkyZhone has a default address of 192.168.2.1. If a static IP
address is set on your PC that is on the same subnet (for example, 192.168.2.100), then use
HTTPS to configure the remaining parameters. Note that the SkyZhone access point uses
HTTPS and not HTTP. The default login is admin and the default password is zhone.
Note that if the IP address of the management VLAN is changed, you lose your connection to the
SkyZhone unit. A new static IP address must be configured on your PC that is compatible with
the new IP address that you configured in the SkyZhone unit.
Also, if any changes have been made to the VLAN definitions, the corresponding changes will
have to be made in the DSLAM that the SkyZhone is connected to.
Factory Defaults
The factory defaults for the SkyZhone 1x00 Access Points include the following VLANs and IP
addresses:
VLAN
Tag/Untagged
Port
IP address
1
Untagged
eth1 (Ethernet)
192.168.2.1
1
Untagged
wlan0 (2.4 GHz)
The unit will have a default IP address of 192.168.2.1 on the Ethernet port. With these defaults,
the user can connect a standard PC to the Ethernet port (eth1) and configure the unit with either
SSH or HTTP. The PC will need to have an IP address on the same subnet. Typically,
192.168.2.100 is used. Of course, if you change the IP address of the unit, you will loose
connectivity. You would then need to reconfigure your PC to be on the same subnet.
