WRITING TO AN READING FROM A FILE
The Z3-DM368-RPS also supports writing encoded streams to a file and reading a file and playing it back.
The steps below describe how to record a stream to an .mp4 file, play it back, do trick play while playing it
back, and play back the file on a PC.
Writing to and reading from a file is accessed via the serial interface. The details on what steps to take are
listed below.
(1)
First, make sure the proper encode / decode connections are made to the Z3-DM368-RPS as described
in Section 7.0 and Section 8.0.

Boot up the Z3-DM368-RPS connected to the serial interface. You should see the serial UI main menu

Choose the “Z – exit to record script” option by typing “Z” and then <return>.

You should see the message “Initializing multimedia system.” After about 15 seconds, the file
read/write menu will appear:
