GETTING STARTED WITH THE FV4K-1XA

 

 

If you have received an FV4K-1XA assembly, you will need to connect it to the Sony FCB-EW9500H HDMI 
camera block via HDMI KEL input in Figure 4. Do NOT connect FCB-EW9500H to LVDS KEL input in Figure 4. 
The Interface Front End PCB of the FV4K-1XA assembly (see 

Figure 4

) has a 30-pin KEL connector that allows 

a flexible ribbon cable to be used to connect the encoder assembly to an identical connector on the Sony 
camera. 

 

(1) Connect the KEL ribbon cable to the Sony FCB-EW9500H block camera. (Gold teeth face up) 

 

(2) Connect the other end of the KEL ribbon cable to the Interface Front PCB label HDMI (only). (Gold teeth 
face away from the PCB’s) 

 

 

 

WARNING: Only use a Z3 approved KEL ribbon cable to connect Z3’s boards to the Sony camera. Using an 
incorrect cable (the cables provided by Sony) can permanently damage the boards or camera 

 

The KEL cable is sold separately (ordering part number: CBL-0028-01). 

 

WARNING: Use ONLY FCB-EW9500H HDMI or compatible HDMI camera with the FV4K-1XA on the 
“HDMI” KEL input. Use ONLY compatible LVDS camera with FV4K-1XA on the “LVDS” KEL input. 
Using an incompatible camera on either KEL input may permanently damage the camera and
