Operation of the Software Setting Function 

Set the data format and transmission speed using the following procedure. 
(1)  Write the setting values to data position numbers 38 and 39 using the WRITE 

instruction. 

(2) 

Turn on output relay Ylmm35 (Setup Request) using the SET P instruction. 

(3)  When setup of data format and transmission speed completes, input relay 

Xlmm03 (Setup Completed) turns on. Turn off output relay Ylmm35 (Setup 

Request) using the RST P instruction on the ‘ON’ rising edge of input relay 

Xlmm03 (Setup Completed).  Turning off output relay Ylmm35 (Setup Request) 

also turns off input relay Xlmm03 (Setup Completed). 

 
A register whose value is changed using a program retained its value until it is changed 

again using a program or until power is turned off. 
 
Beware that the default value of a register that is not changed from a program will be 

overwritten when output relay Ylmm35 (Setup Request) is turned on. 

CAUTION

 

 

-  When the Protection Feature (register 38, bit B6) is enabled, PC Link commands for 

writing to devices cannot be executed.  (When executed, an EC1=$02 error occurs) 

-  The initial values of data position numbers 38 and 39 do not reflect the state of the 

DIP switches and rotary switch. 

  The initial values are given in table B4.2 “List of Registers Related to the Software 

Setting Function”, and are independent of the states of the switches.
