The
DEPTH OFFSET
is a fi xed amount to be added or subtracted from the depth reading. This allows
compensation for keels or depths from the water surface to be displayed. Select a positive number
equal to the vertical distance between the transducer and waterline for depth at the waterline; or select a
negative number equal to the vertical distance between the transducer and keel for depth at the keel. The
current depth as measured by the transducer is listed for comparison to a known depth value.

For meters the Range is 32.8 to 32.7m. For feet

Depth Offset
The
SPEED
option changes the speed transducer reading by the percentage set here.
It is also possible to calibrate this option automatically against a GPS speed input if a GPS device is
present. If there is very little tidal
fl ow and the GPS is giving good SOG (Speed Over Ground ) data,
simply press the
AUTO
softkey and the i5501E will automatically calculate the correct percentage value
to ensure that both water speed and ground speed are identical.
