Remove six bolts and

washers

(Figure 5-64, (1))

Marine gear engines:

Remove 12 bolts

(Figure 5-64, (1))

5. Remove coupler

(Figure 5-64, (2))

Stern drive engines:

Remove eight bolts

(Figure 5-64, (3))

and remove coupler adapter

(Figure 5-64, (4))

Installation

1. Install flywheel holding tool to prevent flywheel

rotation.

IMPORTANT

Ensure all mating surfaces are clean and
dry.

Stern drive engines:

Install coupler adapter

and tighten eight bolts to specification.

3. Install coupler. Install bolts and washers

(washers used on stern drive engines only).
Tighten to specification.

Drive Coupling Torque

4. Remove flywheel holding tool.

5. Install flywheel housing.
