ASSEMBLING THE BRAKE SHOE
PLATE

1. Install:

brake camshaft

brake shoe wear indicator

brake camshaft

▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼

a. Install the brake camshaft so its punch mark

is positioned as shown.

b. Align the projection on the brake shoe wear

indicator with the notch in the brake
camshaft.

c. Align the punch mark in the brake camshaft

with the mark on the brake camshaft lever.

d. Check that the brake shoes are properly

positioned.

4. Check:

brake drum inner surface
Oil deposits

→

Clean.

Remove the oil with a rag soaked in lacquer
thinner or solvent.
Scratches

→

Repair.

Lightly and evenly polish the scratches with
an emery cloth.

5. Check:

brake camshaft
Damage/wear

→

Replace.

Brake drum inside diameter limit
(maximum)

Front: 111 mm (4.37 in)
Rear: 131 mm (5.16 in)
