Adjusting the throttle cable

1. Remove the shroud. (See pages 8-5–8-7 for removal

procedures.)

2. Remove the headlight unit bolts and the two top

cover bolts near the headlight unit.

3. Disconnect the speedometer coupler and headlight

couplers, and then remove the headlight unit.

4. Loosen the locknut.
5. Turn the adjuster in or out until the proper throttle

lever free play is achieved.

6. Tighten the locknut.
7. Connect the speedometer coupler and headlight cou-

plers, and then install the headlight unit, making sure
to insert the tabs on the headlight unit stay into the
slots on the bottom of the headlight unit.

8. Install the headlight unit bolts, and then tighten them

to the specified torque.

9. Install the top cover bolts.

10. Install the shroud.

Throttle lever free play

2.0–3.0 mm (0.08–0.12 in)

Headlight unit bolt tightening torque:

3 Nm (0.3 m·kgf, 2.2 ft·lb)
