6.12 Terminating the Power Conductors
a. Refer to Figure 6-4 for the power terminals location on the termination card.
b. Connect the power wires to the Power terminals as shown in Figure 10.

6.13 Setting Dip Switches
The VLC-605 address is shipped pre-set at zero (0) from the factory. The
mode of operation is also set to AMZ at the factory. The IDNet address
of the detector is set using dip switches 1 through 8. As an example
device address “015” would need switches 1, 2, 4 and 8 (8+4+2+1=15) in
the “ON” position.
Note: 1. Switch position 9 is non-active.
2. Switch 10 must be set to AMZ position.

6.14 Closing Up the VLC-605
a. Tie all wires together using cable ties.
b. Reattach the front cover to the plastic tie and connect the LED CARD connector to the socket on the
termination card if you have removed the cover and the connector.
c. Perform the power up as per Section 7 and preliminary checks as per Section 9.
d. Close up the VLC-605 and secure the cover with the two screws
6.15 Pipe Bonding Check
a. Check that all plastic pipe joints are fully sealed and bonded with glue to eliminate unwanted air leaks. If
applicable, check all metal pipe joints are sealed to eliminate unwanted air leaks.
b. Check the pipe joint at the air inlet to the VLC-605 is not bonded and fits firmly into the air inlet socket.
c. Check all pipes are securely attached to a mounting surface with the proper fasteners.
d. Check the number and sizes of the air sampling holes on the pipes are correct. Refer to ASPIRE design
calculations for details of the particular installation.
e. Check the routing of the pipes is correct with reference to the site plan and ASPIRE Calculation.
