70 Setting Route Options

3. Choose route exclusions and click Calculate . The route displays
as described in “Displaying a Route” on page 72.
Route options determine which guidance options and exclusions are
available and include the following:
•
Navigation profile:
•
Bicycle: optimises routes for non-highway travel on roads.
•
Motorcycle: optimises routes for highway and non-highway
travel except for roads with motorcycle restrictions.
•
Pedestrian: optimises routes for roads and designated
footpaths.
•
Car: optimises routes for car travel
•
Guidance options determine which routing program to use:
•
Guidance: This option is only available if Bicycle or Pedestrian
is selected as a mode of transport. It provides guidance using
the shortest distance possible on roads where foot and bicycle
traffic are permitted.
•
Linear Distance: This option is only available if Bicycle or
Pedestrian is selected as a mode of transport. It generates a
simple line between the current location and destination.
•
Fast: This option is available if Motorcycle or Car is chosen as
the mode of transportation. It generates guidance for the
fastest route.
•
Short: This option is available if Motorcycle or Car is chosen as
the mode of transportation. It generates guidance for the
shortest route.
