When Using the StatusMessenger Function
This section explains how to fix the troubles when the StatusMessenger features are used.
The new settings were not
reflected by clicking the [Apply
New Settings] button.
Is the entered value correct?
If an invalid value is entered, it will be automatically changed to a
value within the range.
Cannot change settings if you
forget the password.
If you cannot remember the password, initialize the NVM using the
[Network Settings] menu on the control panel. However, initializing
the NVM will revert the value for each item of the [Network Settings]
menu to default. It is recommended to print the [Printer Settings]
and check the current settings.
The display language is
different.
Change the display language settings on the Web browser.

Connection to CentreWare
Internet Services has been
refused, or “Data not included
in page” is displayed.
This symptom occurs when the Web browser display is refreshed
frequently. Do not refresh the Web browser display frequently. Also,
do not continuously display the [Status] screen or the [Jobs] screen
on several Web browsers at the same time.
Password not certified after
entering the password in the
username and password
window.
If certification is refused five times, the user cannot be certified even
if the correct user name and password are input.
Switch the printer off and on once, then do the certification
procedure again.

The printer status was not
notified by e-mail.
Check the following settings in [Properties] of CentreWare Internet
Services.
• Is the printer e-mail address specified?
• Is [Enable] specified for [StatusMessanger]?
• Are the SMTP server IP address and POP3 server IP address
specified correctly?
• Are the POP user name and password specified correctly?
• Are the items to be notified specified correctly?
• Are the destination e-mail addresses entered correctly?
Are the SMTP server and POP server working correctly? Check
with your network administrator.
