Unwind new paper roll until smooth, undamaged paper is reached. The
paper roll should have no creases or pits and be clear of debris and
irregularities. Cut off and discard excess paper.
Damaged or irregular paper may cause damage to the
pressure roller, severely reducing the life of the pressure
roller.
8.
Butt-splice the paper from the old roll to the new roll of paper and tape
using splicing tape.
9.
Take up any slack onto the new roll until the dancer arm swings all the
way into its down position.
10.
While holding the paper roll in place, set the power/brake switch to ON.
11.
Run the splice through the printing system at below minimum speed, then
cut off and discard.
Before you restart any job, check perforation alignment. Refer
to “Adjusting the Perforator Alignment” later in this chapter.
Webbing the Printing System
Webbing the printing system involves threading the paper through the various
components of the printing system. The configuration of your printing system
will determine how the paper is threaded. The following are the default
webbing diagrams for each component.
