Finisher
The Finisher consists of the Top Tray and the Stacker Tray.
The Top Tray holds sheets that are purged from the system or up to
250 sheets of copies on small paper that cannot be stapled. It cannot
directly be selected as an output destination. The specific sizes of
copies that go to the Top Tray are listed in Chapter 10, Paper and
Stock.
The Stacker Tray is the output tray for all other copies. It has two
staplers, each with a 5000 staple cartridge, that can staple sheets
ranging in size from 6.7 x 8 inch to 12 x 18 inch of 16 to 110 lb stock.
To ensure that the stapling of thin sets is satisfactory, the machine
stops after producing between 30 and 50 sets of 2 -15 sheets to allow
you to unload the machine. It automatically resumes printing after it
is unloaded or after one minute. These options are adjustable in
Tools. See page 6-27
Some versions of hardware may not require these options.
NOTE
Removing any of the output while the machine is running may
produce finished sets that are incorrectly stapled. To unload the
Finisher while it is printing, Press the Finisher Pause button. After
the button is pressed, the machine will finish producing the set
being printed. Then, the Stacker Tray will lower, allowing you to
unload it. Press the Finisher Pause button again to continue.
